WHY KIDS MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAM?

SCMMA’s Little Warriors (Ages 4-6) Youth (ages 7-12) and Teen (ages 13-17) programs are very popular, giving participants a physical outlet, improving fitness and developing resilience, dedication and work ethic. Boxing, Kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu classes are available at the youth and teen levels.

Youth Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling

Jiu Jitsu is a grappling based martial art that uses technique and leverage to overcome larger or stronger opponents. It focuses on joint locks, escapes and other grappling techniques and is recognized as the best martial art for self defense. It is an excellent choice for parents and kids who are looking for effective anti-bullying strategies as well as the physical benefits of increased physical activity. Youth members also have the option to compete in Jiu Jitsu tournaments. Our Jiu Jitsu program alternates with our wrestling program to take advantage of the similarities of both sports/martial arts.

Little Warriors

Little Warriors is our parent and child class for ages 4-6. Kids in this program will get an introduction to the different styles of martial arts that we teach at Steel City MMA. Participants will have fun learning the basics of Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing. They will learn basic kickboxing and jiu jitsu skills, play games that teach them how to move their bodies properly, learn to both compete and work as a group, and discuss the important characteristics of a martial artist such as honesty, hard work, dedication, helpfulness and many more.

Youth Kickboxing

Youth will improve overall fitness, learn self defense and discipline, build resiliency, and develop self-esteem while learning the art of kickboxing. They will make friends, have fun and develop a sense of camaraderie with their teammates while developing as true martial artists.
